Twin Harbors Eye Center provides comprehensive eye care and ophthalmology services to Aberdeen, WA and the surrounding communities. Since 1994, we have been treating patients of all ages in our family oriented, warm and friendly office.

While we provide a vast array of services, patient care is our main focus and we strive to assist all of our patients with anything they may need. We believe that vision is our most precious sense and strive to preserve and improve vision, therefore improving the quality of our patient’s lives.

Our doctors, (who also speak Spanish) and experienced team are available to assist you with any questions that you may have about the health of your eyes, your eyeglasses, contacts and more. We offer a wide variety of services providing thorough, comprehensive eye examinations, laser therapy treatments, and the diagnosis and treatment of conditions including Cataracts, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration. We also prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses and perform contact lens fittings and insertion and removal education for new contact lens wearers.

Meet our Doctors



Dr. Ruyle

Susan Ruyle, M.D., a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, has practiced in Grays Harbor since August of 1994, when she founded Twin Harbors Eye Center. She was attracted to the area by its natural beauty and strong sense of community.

Prior to moving to Grays Harbor, Dr. Ruyle attended the University of Washington, where she earned a BA in Spanish. She then attended the University of Washington’s Medical School, followed by a two year residency in Internal Medicine and a three year residency in Ophthalmology, both at the University of Tennessee. She became a staff Ophthalmologist for the Flying Eye Hospital, ORBIS, teaching fellow ophthalmologists in developing countries throughout Asia. After returning to the United States, she completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Gordan Hamish Eye Institute in St. Louis, MO. Now that her children are older, Dr. Ruyle has resumed being a volunteer teaching ophthalmologist abroad, including three trips to Vietnam and two to Myanmar, most recently.

Dr. Ruyle has concentrated on comprehensive ophthalmology to serve the needs of Grays Harbor. She diagnoses and treats Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetic eye disease, Macular Degeneration, and many other eye diseases. She performs therapeutic laser procedures and minor eye procedures in the office while utilizing Grays Harbor Community Hospital’s outpatient surgical center for her surgeries to enable patients to stay close to home.

Outside of the office, Dr. Ruyle enjoys living an active, healthy lifestyle including many activities like hiking, bicycling, kayaking, fishing and clam digging with her family. She is an active member of the Grays Harbor YMCA and GH Crossfit and commits to many local community events and charities.

Dr. Pratt

Joshua Pratt, OD, PhD, a Board Certified Optometrist, has practiced in Grays Harbor since December, 2012. His clinical and research training, along with his compassion, honesty, and thoroughness, allow him to deliver the highest quality of patient care.

Dr. Pratt received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Optometry and his Doctor of Philosophy in Physiological Optics and Vision Science from the University of Houston. Prior to joining Twin Harbors Eye Center, Dr. Pratt was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Houston College of Optometry where he taught clinical skills to 3rd year Optometry students and served as a Low Vision Rehabilitation Specialist. Dr. Pratt’s clinical training included rotations through the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center VISOR Clinic in Houston, TX and the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center Optometry Clinic in Albuquerque, NM.

Dr. Pratt enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is especially pleased to provide pediatric and low vision exams. His research focuses on low vision rehabilitation and macular degeneration and he has contributed to numerous publications regarding the like. Outside of clinic, Dr. Pratt enjoys hiking, camping and the great outdoors and spending time with his family. He serves as the Scoutmaster for Troop 4052 in Aberdeen and coaches his eight year old son’s soccer team.
